Learn to Skate
The Sportsplex Ice Skating Department caters to ice skaters of all ages and levels. We have classes and programs for those just entering the sport and for those that have skated for years. Beginners of all ages can learn the basics in our Learn-to-Skate Program that extends on up from basic skating classes, to advanced and adult classes. We even have a Parent & Me class. No matter what your level of interest is, stay cool and come ice skate at the Sportsplex!!
Learn-to-Skate Classes are held every Wednesday evening and mid-day every Saturday.
Wednesdays
5:15pm-5:45pm – Snowplow Sam, Parent & Me, Basic 1, & Basic 2
5:45pm-6:15pm – Basic 3, 4, 5, & 6
6:30pm-7:00pm – Snowplow Sam 1, Basic 1, and Adult/Teen 1-6
6:00pm-7:00pm – Freeskate/Aspire 1-6
Saturdays
11:30am-12:00pm – Snowplow Sam, Parent & Me, Basic 1, & Basic 2
12:00pm-12:30pm – Basic 3, 4, 5, & 6
12:30pm-1:00pm – Snowplow Sam 1, Basic 1, and Adult/Teen 1-6
12:00pm-1:00pm – Freeskate/Aspire 1-6

Learn to Skate Group Lessons
- Learn to Skate Classes are for all ages and are offered throughout the year. Our group lessons teach basic skills, on up to more advanced techniques.
- All participants will receive a punch pass to come to public skate to practice. Rental skates are included.
Private Lessons & Figure Skating
- Not ready for a group setting? Looking for a 1-on-1 figure skating coach? Private lessons are also available. Contact our Skating Director, Dia McGaughey at DMcGaughey@oc-sportsplex.com, to be set up with any of our world class U.S.F.S.A./P.S.A. certified instructors. Already know of a coach? See our list of private lesson coaches to set up a lesson yourself. Lessons are available in 15-minute increments.
Birthday Party
- Celebrate your child's next party at the Sportsplex! We have 3 Pools, an Ice Rink, 2 Full Size Basketball Courts, and a Turf Field all at one location! Our parties are hassle free. We set-up, clean-up, decorate, and provide the cupcakes so you don't have to worry about a thing!
